The Sorrentino family has farmed land on Vesuvio’s southern slopes – just a few miles from Pompei – for decades.
Paolo Sorrentino inherited his passion for indigenous varieties from his mother, who is known as Nonna Benigna. As a young girl during World War II, Nonna Benigna took it upon herself to tend to the family’s vines.
Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio’ is a blend of 80% Caprettone and 20% Falanghina.
Straw yellow with green reflections. On the nose, it shows intense and complex aromas of almond, white peach, pear and mineral notes. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet elegant.
